Starter
The Starter Tier is designed for those who are just starting out and looking for cost-effective equipment options. This tier includes budget-friendly options for microphones and cameras that are suitable for basic audio and video recordings. These options are easy to use, provide good quality and are a great way to get started without breaking the bank.

Microphones
Cameras
Note:
For the starter tier, we highly recommend using the Continuity Camera feature for iPhone and Mac users. The Continuity Camera feature provides an efficient and cost-effective option for capturing audio and visual content. Here is a tutorial. Please also note that there is a system requirement.
If budget allows, we recommend stepping up to the advanced tier for video. Video quality at this price point is mediocre and your budget is better spent on a microphone and lighting.
Lighting
Note:
Lighting is a crucial aspect of video production as it sets the mood and tone of a scene, helps to highlight important elements, and affects the overall look and feel of the video. Good lighting helps to create depth and dimension in a scene, while poor lighting can make a video look flat and unprofessional. Proper lighting can also help to correct color imbalances, reduce harsh shadows, and improve skin tones.
Ring lights are commonly used by makeup YouTubers. The unique feature of a ring light is the ring or halo in the eyes. Not recommended outside fashion/beauty videos.
Lighting placement:
Place the lights as shown. If you only have 1 light, place it in position #1 (45 degree angle) For ring lights, place it directly in front.
