Hi,
My name is Tamotsu. (tah-moh-tsu), and I am a documentary filmmaker based in Torrance, California, and Honolulu, Hawaii. I am the founder of Manoa Sky, a documentary film company that is dedicated to capturing and preserving the authentic human experience through cinéma vérité style documentaries.
The name Manoa Sky is derived from the Hawaiian word Mānoa, which means depth and vastness. Combined with the word Sky, our intention is to capture the depth and the heights of the human experience, an embodiment of our vision to embrace the intricate layers of human existence, reaching both the depths of our souls and the heights of our aspirations.
We believe that we are currently experiencing a turning point in society, where the definitions of careers and the ways in which we view work are shifting dramatically. Our mission is to share the stories of heart-centered, inspired individuals who view their careers as a foundation for a broader positive impact.
I bring a wealth of experience to my craft, having worked in a variety of industries, including eCommerce, coaching, teaching, Hollywood photo editing, robotics, volunteering, automotive, and more. I am deeply passionate about various pursuits, including meditation and inner growth, jiu-jitsu, family wellness, technology, and of course, filmmaking and connecting with people on a deeper level.
I am married to my lovely wife ❤️, who has taught me the beauty of opening my heart. Together, we have two children who bring us joy, laughter and a lot of learning. They teach us patience, understanding, compassion, love, energy management, sleep management, exercise, multitasking, and much more. 😁 With their guidance, I believe that I am well-equipped to tell the stories of those who are making a positive impact in the world.
Fun fact: I shoot with a Netflix approved Sony camera.
FYI: It is a privilege to be a part of your journey towards growth and success.
Fun Fact: An eCommerce business that I co-founded was recognized as one of the fastest growing companies in the U.S. This achievement was a testament to the dedication and efforts of our team in helping others reach their goals.
